2016 - 2018
In 2017, The Hush Foundation launched our National Composers in Residence Project. 12 composers were engaged to meet young people with chronic illness and mental health challenges who were participating in the music therapy programs run by the Royal Children's Hospital and Monash Children's Hospital, with the challenge to write works for string orchestra that would serve as 'comfort listening' within the hospital environment.
The result was the release of Hush Volume 18 AlbumCollective Wisdom, including Caerwen’s Stars Come Out in a Midnight Sky, performed by the ACO Collective. Stars Come Out in a Midnight Sky was also released on Women of Note ABC Classic Album, and has since been broadcast and performed around the world by Australian and international orchestras.
